goals july 2015

Ah, summer is finally here. July is upon us! This is my favorite month out of the year. One, because the 4th of July has always been one of my all-time favorite holidays. This was magnified once I married Hubbs, because it is also HIS favorite & his family goes ALL-OUT in every sense of the word! And now with our kids, I am so excited to share and start holiday traditions, in general, with them. And TWO, this is my birthday month. This year I will turning an awesome 30! And I feel like this is the first birthday (minus turning 21) where I feel like I am hitting some crazy milestone. So stick around because later this month I will be sharing the special way I’m planning to celebrate my birthday with my kids. But for now I’ll leave you with my 6 brand new goals for this month. It’s all about keeping organized, but also enjoying everything summer has to offer…

Once a week blog posting. I am coming up on my 6 month mark of blogging. While this blogging journey started out as a “just for me” idea, it has quickly become so much more. I have had more bloggers and readers connect with me than I ever imagined would, and the entire process is surreal. But it can also quickly suck you in. I want to be realistic, and honest with my readers. While I was trying to post 3 times a week, as soon as the busy summer hit, I was feeling pressure to keep up. So, instead of keeping up I’m dialing back for the next month or so. Hoping this will free up more time for me to begin working on my upcoming projects (ex: My 365 meal planning project or my Etsy shop opening).

Weekly walks. The past few weeks I have been packing up my entire crew of two kiddos & our dog, and driving them to the local park. We walk the mile or so paved path together & then take a break at the creek for some splashing & cooling down. Our dog Toby needs more of this, and I need to make sure we do it! So goal #2 is a must, personally for all of us.

Find more collaborations. June was a great month for me with finding companies to collaborate on reviews with. While I have a few more in the works, I want to start reaching out and see if I can make reviews a regular feature on the blog.

Reading for fun.  I don’t make enough time to finish books lately! I had gotten a Kindle Fire HD a year or so ago, and I had done more reading in a few short months than I have in the years before. Then I stopped. I am hoping to make it part of my routine again.

Organize my 365 Project. I have mentioned this before, even in prior goals posts. But this is the largest project idea I have for the blog & I really want to start writing & setting it up. My long term goal being to launch in January 1st, 2016 — making it your one stop resource every month for the entire year, when planning your meals!

Meal plan better. Funny that I follow up my “365 Project” goal with one on making my planning better! But in the summer I have the hardest time keeping it organized. Grilling season makes it easier but not if you forget to defrost your slab of meat! Writing it down helps, I just have to add it to my routine!

Well there is my month, if you have anything you want to comment on (Book suggestions? Your favorite recipe?) please leave a comment below! Also I would love to hear what your goals are for the month, personal or blog, I always love hearing them!
